New beginnings, fresh starts, reaffirmations of love and promises for a brighter future all come to mind as we ring in a New Year. There are the superficial, yet purposeful, promises we make to ourselves.
New Year’s Eve is the last day of the year and the day before New Year’s Day, which marks the start of a new year according to the Gregorian calendar. Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1582. It was adopted immediately in some areas of Europe but it was not used in various countries until even centuries later. For example, the United Kingdom and the United States started observing the Gregorian calendar in 1752, in which 11 days were dropped.
Ask yourself: “Where do I want to travel this year?â€. If you want to play it safe, why not start in a country that speaks your own language or even in your own country?
The new year is sneaking up on us. It’s time to start thinking about what your resolutions will be.  Once the new year hits health is the top item that graze the lists of people trying to make big changes in their lives.
